It's time for a tech tip...why? Because it's Tuesday!
This is one of my new finds:
Tuva Labs is a website devoted to helping students (of all ages) learn data analysis skills. It has a rich collection of raw data sets in disciplines ranging from ancient history to astronomy. Teachers and students can manipulate these sets in many different ways and use them to draw conclusions about trends in the data. Sample lesson plans and activities are included, and you can assign them to your classes digitally.
It's a fabulous tool for teaching visual literacy, and I found resources that could apply to each of our academic departments.
Even for non-teachers, this is a fascinating site that offers a rich and immersive interface.
Enjoy!
