Take your flashcards to the cloud! I've been using a collaborative flashcard tool called Brainscape with my classes. It allows students and teachers to share different "decks" within a larger "subject." Cards can include multimedia elements like images and sounds, and the study tool includes a mastery-based system, customized for each student. Finally, Brainscape is also available as a smartphone app for studying on the go.
Pre-made decks are available in several subject areas. I'm making my way through Mandarin to talk to my mother-in-law!
